In reading the account of Jesus casting out a legion of demons from a man in Gadarenes who was naked, homeless and violent for a long time, I noticed that he was not looking for God nor was he praying or repenting. We all perhaps know someone similar in our family or circle of friends or strangers we see along our way who do not realize how enslaved they are.
But then Jesus comes along because the Scripture says he had compassion on the man. Read Mark 5 verses 5 to 19. And Jesus spoke and he was set free. That we would increase in compassion, that inward affection and mercy to those whose outward appearance and sounds of rejection seemingly want nothing to do with God. May we go in the name of Jesus and offer freedom and wholeness to set the captive free.
