Keynote Speaker- Pastor Bob Barber
Pastor Bob Barber ministered as a pastor for 30 years, 26 years serving on a growing church staff at GCCC focusing on Christian Education and Discipleship. He oversaw small groups, mentored leaders, and future pastors as a part of the ordination team. If that wasn’t enough, he initiated the largest class of Stephen’s ministers.
In the early 2000s, the Lord called Pastor Bob to assume the role of headmaster at GCCC’s newly founded classical Christian academy, Bethel Prep. From there he went on to assume the head of school role at Covenant Christian School in Atlanta, GA and spent four years in service to New Covenant School in Anderson, SC as the Upper School Principal. Like many others in ministry at Christian schools, Bob often did double duty teaching Math, language arts, Bible, Omnibus, Introductory Latin, Systematic Theology, Church History, Rhetoric, and more. Currently, the Lord has called Bob to serve special education and at-risk students in his semi-retirement in the role of Teaching Aid, Mentor, and Tutor in a public middle school. When you see him at the gala, ask him about the one student he lost!
Bob believes that serving, encouraging, and equipping others to grow as effective and productive disciples of Christ and participants in the vision and mission of the local church and school is the best way to be an effective servant leader and team player. He models his beliefs as he spares no effort to be a servant leader like Jesus Christ, the Good Shepherd, who learned much about servant leadership Himself from the loving instruction and example of His mother Mary who replied to God’s call on her life with the words, “Behold, I am the servant of the Lord; let it be to me according to your word.” – Luke 1:38
