Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not to your own understanding Proverbs 3:5 but in all thy ways acknowledge him and he will direct thy path Proverbs 3:6.
Many times, through my walk with the Lord I have said to Him, I do not understand why this is happening. Strong’s definitions of the following words:
Lean – to support one’s self, understand /to perceive
Knowledge – endued with a familiar friend, direct-to appoint
Path – to travel
Many people recognize the Lord as powerful and mighty and a very important part of some religions. However, the definition of the word acknowledge has a deeper meaning. The word KNOW in there is used for intimacy between a man and his wife as in Genesis 4:1 Adam knew Eve and she conceived. Therefore, to acknowledge God is not a mental thing but a heart thing. My relationship and intimacy with Him is what will determine if my path is being directed. It’s not that I know who He is, but I know HIM. This allows me to be able to trust Him with all my heart and keeps me from leaning (supporting my SELF) to my own understanding about what worked out in the past. Or what worked out for someone else, or the easiest or quickest way. Much wiser to allow Him to direct all my travels, not me.
