The Acorn

The Acorn

Romans 6:5
For if we have been planted together in the likeness of his death, we shall be also in the likeness of his resurrection: (KJV)

One sunny afternoon I sat beside our flowerbed to eat my lunch, however Adonai had another food in mind for that hour. I looked down at the ground and observed some acorns among the fallen leaves. I picked them up and observed that out from the bottoms a little root had begun to sprout in preparation for penetration into the soil. As I handled them Adonai began to speak the secret of the acorn. He said my son observe that within the acorn is the ability to reproduce itself. It doesn’t need any help from anything or anyone else. No one needs to break its shell for it has the ability to break out simply by what I through creation put into it. Left undisturbed it will do exactly what I designed it to do.

I looked at the acorn and began to think of what it would become and like most agreed that it would become a mighty oak, however the Lord said think beyond what you SEE and KNOW and begin to think of all the potentials that it could become. I began to think and see a piano, floor, bridge, house, desk etc. The list was endless and Adonai made His point. We like the acorn do not know what we will eventually become and often think of our immediate surroundings, however G-d has a plan and purpose for each one of us known only to Him and revealed in His time. When an acorn drops to the ground the 1st thing it does after breaking out is to seek its GRAVE for that is the place that it will eventually grow from. John 12:24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, Except a corn of wheat fall into the ground and die, it abideth alone: but if it die, it bringeth forth much fruit. (KJV).

As mighty as the Oak eventually becomes and all that it provides is a direct result of standing in its grave. It owes everything to its grave and as long as it remains standing in its grave it produces fruit. Its ability to withstand tremendous winds (doctrines) is because its roots go DEEP into the GRAVE. Brethren is not Adonai saying to us to be like the acorn? Too many of G-d’s people are trying to produce only what G-d can through their many self-efforts, calling it brokenness rather than letting the LIFE that G-d has already deposited in them break forth.

Romans 8:11 But if the Rauch of him that raised up Yeshua from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Messiah from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Rauch that dwelleth in you.(KJV). What took place on Calvary becomes a prototype for us. The Scriptures say that He (Yeshua) was delivered UP for us all.  Luke 24:7 Saying, The Son of man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.

Acts 2:23-24 Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of G-d, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain: Whom G-d hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be holden of it. Notice that Yeshua was DELIVERED; that is to say it was NOT the work of his OWN hand and that he was DELIVERED (give over, up –to release, set free) by the hand of G-D.

How wonderful are the ways of the Adonai. Not only was Yeshua given up but also set FREE.  The new LIFE began. Out of DEATH came LIFE. Its only when we identify with Messiah’s death do we find that we been set FREE. G-d used the hands of men to PLANT Yeshua into the ground as they let the tree that He hung on be socketed (attached ) into the ground. The ROOTS of G-d’s infinite purposes went DEEP and the Divine design began. The fruit that was to come forth 3 days later was to be the Light and Life of all men producing all by ITSELF as it was intended. Genesis 1:11 And G-d said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so.
